Michael Ramey Photographs Orphans Overseas for World Association for Children and Parents
Michael Ramey, an instructor at the Art Institute of Seattle, recently completed an 18-day tour of orphanages in India, Vietnam, China and Russia, where he photographed children for the World Association for Children and Parents. The adoption agency will use the images to develop a donor DVD and a presentation for its 30th anniversary celebration, to be held in New York City in June.
Michael Riedel Awarded Photoshop Guru Award at Photoshop World Conference
Michael Riedel, a faculty member at the Art Institute of Seattle, was awarded the Photoshop Guru Award in the Photography category at the 2004 Photoshop World Conference. Riedel specializes in fashion photography and teaches digital manipulation and photography classes.
Art Institute of Seattle Faculty Members Barry Scharf and Tom Harris Receive Photography Awards
Two Art Institute of Seattle faculty members were recognized for their work late last year. Barry Scharf received the Guru finalist award in the Artistic category at the 2003 National Association of Photoshop Professionals international conference in Miami Beach, Fla. The City of Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs recently selected Tom Harris, a photography instructor at the institute, as a Sustaining Award winner in the Seattle Collects 2003 competition.
Ann McDermott and Sebastian Schoelss Awarded Glazer's Camera Scholarships
Two students in the photography program at the Art Institute of Seattle were recently awarded scholarships of $1,000 each by Glazer's Camera Supply. Ann McDermott has maintained a 3.8 CGPA throughout six quarters of study with the institute. Sebastian Schoelss has maintained a 4.0 throughout his six quarters.
Amar Jorgenseon Receives Glazer's Camera Scholarship
Amar Jorgenseon, a photography student at the Art Institute of Seattle, has been awarded a $500 scholarship by Glazer’s Camera Supply.
